I'm thrilled to launch the very first edition of our newsletter, "Dear Spirit, Help a Human Out." This space is dedicated to diving deep into the realms of intuition and spiritual guidance. Our goal is to help you connect more profoundly with your own intuition and navigate the challenges of life with a bit more ease and clarity.

Dial "I" for Intuition: Reclaiming Your Inner Psychic Hotline

Dear Spirit,

I've been feeling disconnected from my own intuition. With all the noise and stress in daily life, I find it hard to tap into my inner voice and feel confident about the choices I'm making. How can I reconnect with my intuition and start trusting it more in my everyday decisions?

Sincerely,

Seeking Clarity

Dear Seeking Clarity,

Life has been a crazy ride lately for humans; it’s totally understandable that you might feel overwhelmed by all the noise—and you are not alone, friend! Fortunately, intuition is a vital tool we all possess. Think of your intuition as your BFF—always there when you need them, but sometimes you have to reach out and ask for help. Let’s explore how you can reconnect with that inner guide.

Instead of turning to others for advice, it's important to realize that your intuition often holds the key to the issues you're facing. Let's delve deeper into how to reconnect with this guiding force and learn to trust your instincts more deeply.

The Intuition Intrigue

Intuition is often described as a gut feeling that helps us make decisions. However, it is much more than just a vague notion. Think of intuition as a powerful connection to your higher self, offering wisdom and insight to navigate life’s ups and downs.

For instance, when you suddenly feel uneasy about a job offer that seems perfect on paper, that’s your intuition signaling to you. Research indicates that nearly 70% of people report having strong gut feelings during pivotal moments in their lives. The key? Learning to recognize and trust these instincts can lead to powerful insights regarding your life choices.

Clearing the Clutter

To truly hear your intuition, start by creating a clear space, both mentally and emotionally. Just like tidying up a messy room, clearing out negative thoughts and influences is essential.

  1. Identify What Holds You Back: Harmful habits, negative relationships, or emotional baggage.

  2. Engage in Self-Reflection: Research from the American Psychological Association shows that individuals who regularly engage in self-reflection can lower anxiety levels by up to 29%.

  3. Incorporate Mindful Practices: This could involve meditation for just 10 minutes a day, journaling your thoughts, or enjoying a peaceful walk in nature. It’s these moments of calm that allow your intuition to emerge, guiding you toward the clarity you seek.

Don't Forget to Breathe, Ground, Pause, & Create

Stress is your central nervous system’s alarm blaring, "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! FIGHT OR FLIGHT!" What we need to do is calm it down. How? Breathe. Breathing is such a simple exercise that we should be doing all the time, yet often we forget to do it altogether (ever catch yourself holding your breath?).

Take your breathing a step further with the 3-6-9 method: breathe in for 3 seconds, hold for 6 seconds, and exhale for 9 seconds. This technique helps coax your nervous system into a state of bliss, telling it to shift from panic mode to peace mode.

If you need something more tactile, try grounding. Step outside, touch a tree or hug it with all you've got, or walk barefoot on the grass. Grounding connects you to the Earth, and there's scientific backing that it helps reduce stress by decreasing cortisol levels and improving sleep. Mama Earth really knows how to make us feel good and helps us give our body a natural reset.

Still feeling on edge? If possible, consider taking a day for yourself—a vacation or a spa day. If that's out of reach, just finding ten quiet minutes in your car can make a world of difference. It's about creating a little sanctuary where you can let your central nervous system regroup and relax.

Dealing with Mind Chatter

Too many tabs open in your browser? One effective way to quiet this mental noise is by connecting with nature or finding your zen through meditation. It’s about giving your mind a much-needed break, allowing your intuition to pop up and say, "Hey, remember me?"

Not feeling up for meditation? That's okay. Let's get present and mindful. Try to get your creative juices flowing! Whatever "creative" means to you—it could be cooking, organizing, making a really awesome Excel spreadsheet, coloring, making or listening to music. The list goes on… what do you lose track of time doing? (Scrolling on TikTok doesn’t count).

Listen Up: Trust Your Gut

With the clutter cleared, it’s crucial to remember to listen. Have you ever felt strongly about someone and later discovered your instincts were correct? That’s your intuition at work.

When faced with decisions, take a moment to connect with your feelings. For example, if you're contemplating a relationship, note any physical sensations: does your stomach feel tight, or do you feel a sense of warmth? These bodily signals are crucial indicators of your inner wisdom. According to a study by the University of California, nearly 80% of people who actively engage with their gut feelings report improved decision-making.

Self-Doubt as a Hurdle

Self-doubt is another hurdle. Sometimes, you might get a nudge from your intuition but brush it off, thinking it's just your imagination. What if I told you there isn’t much of a difference between imagination and intuition? Let's shift that mindset. Start by paying more attention to your environment, setting intentions to receive guidance, and really being present in the moment. Presence is a gift. You might be surprised by how many gifts (signs) are actually out there, waiting for you to notice them.

Patience, Little Grasshopper

Following your intuition to make choices can be challenging. Just remember, reconnecting with your intuition doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a journey of small, steady steps. Be patient with yourself, and keep practicing these techniques. Trust that your inner voice is ready to guide you, just as soon as you’re ready to listen consistently. And whenever you need a little nudge or have more questions, just write back—I’m here to help!

P.S. — Keep a journal and write things down so you can keep track of any patterns or symbols you receive. This can be incredibly helpful in strengthening your connection to your intuition and understanding the unique ways it communicates with you.

With all my spirit,

Spirit
